Jenkintown Food Cupboard Announces It’s Capital Campaign: Adapting to the Counties Needs

Campaign Overview:

At the Jenkintown Food Cupboard, we're on a mission to transform our community by expanding our impact and ensuring no one goes hungry. Our vision goes beyond alleviating immediate hunger; we aim to create a sustainable foundation for the well-being of families throughout Montgomery County. Introducing our Capital Campaign, a groundbreaking initiative designed to propel our efforts to new heights and meet the growing needs of our community.

1. Expanding Our Footprint:
In line with our strategic plan, the Capital Campaign seeks to secure a new warehouse facility, a cornerstone for the expansion of our food banking operations. This strategic move enables us to consolidate our acquisitions, streamline logistics, and significantly increase our countywide impact.

2. Increasing Countywide Impact:
Through the Capital Campaign, we are setting a target to distribute an additional 300,000 pounds of nutritious food to pantries and families across Montgomery County. This represents a tangible step toward eradicating food insecurity and fostering healthier, more resilient communities.

3. Empowering Partner Pantries:
A key focus of our campaign is to empower smaller partner organizations by reallocating excess resources, including food, toiletries, and hygiene products. By enhancing our countywide food acquisition and distribution efforts, we aim to strengthen the entire network of food assistance organizations.

Financial Commitment:

In our goal to raise half a million dollars to begin the next stages of our impact growth in the food insecurity space, we have identified 3 main areas to commit the funds we raise through our capital campaign

1. Warehouse Acquisition:
The heart of our expansion lies in acquiring a new warehouse facility, providing the necessary space for increased storage, streamlined operations, and enhanced logistics.

2. Facilities and Distribution Costs:
Once we secure a warehouse, our space must be outfit with food shelving, refrigerator/freezer capacity, and the warehousing equipment necessary to move bulk pallets of food.

3. Logistics and Trucking Costs:
To optimize our countywide distribution, we'll invest in logistics and trucking, ensuring that we can reach every corner of Montgomery County efficiently and leaving no donation opportunity unturned.
