Thank you!
Thanks for your interest in volunteering! You can volunteer with us in a number of ways, depending upon your schedule and interest.
STEPS TO BECOMING A VOLUNTEER
First - If you don’t know much about us, start by reaching out!
Email our Volunteer Coordinator:
volunteers@JenkintownFoodCupboard.orgBe sure to tell us your name, phone number and email.
Next, our volunteer coordinator will reach out to you to discuss volunteer opportunities and how you may be best suited to support our efforts as well as review the process for the required clearances and background checks.
Then, she will:
Send you our current signup process, as well as tell you about PA clearance requirements and give you the information you need to get them.
Send you the link for completing the online application and submitting your clearances. Please note that volunteers MUST complete the clearance process before assignment.
Get you started by scheduling you for an orientation session.
Additional things to know
Please reach out ahead by email rather than just stopping by.
Are children able to volunteer?
Children ages 12 to 17 are welcome to volunteer with a parent. Please reach out to us to arrange this.
Unfortunately we are not able to accept volunteers younger than 12 without prior approval by the Volunteer Coordinator.
What should I wear to volunteer?
Comfortable clothing! For your safety, closed-toe shoes are required and our volunteers wear high-visibility vests during distributions.
When I come to volunteer, can I bring a friend or family member?
Only if that friend or family member has also signed up for an open spot through Jenkintown Food Cupboard’s volunteer signup process and reviewed the health policies and required clearances.
